École secondaire Franco-Jeunesse

This project involved the expansion to the existing school in order to facilitate programs for theatre and arts, drama, music and a gym. The design was also to provide separation for community use of the theatre. Our proposal consisted of a multi-use space that converted from gym, using retractable seating and provided space for drama by sub-dividing the theatre seating area with a sound divider wall. Our acoustic solution involved the use of architectural concrete block, which has now become a standard for sound control in gymnasiums for the Conseil scolaire catholique Providence.
